Take your mind off the scorching heat this summer with these ten easy to make refreshing summer coolers! These drinks are infused with fresh flavors and ingredients and come with very less calories as compared to the cola drinks. In addition to this you can serve them right away when the guests arrive.
1. Sangria
Ingredients :
- Sliced apples
- Sliced strawberries
- Sliced oranges
- Frozen grapes
- 2 cups Grape Juice
Method :
To the grape juice add the fruits mentioned above and let the fruits sit in the grape juice for sometime. Serve the mix in glass with crushed ice.
2. Cranberry Apple Concoction
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cranberry juice
- 2 cups apple cider
- Powdered cinnamon sugar
Method:
To a serving glass, dust the rim of the glass with cinnamon sugar and add equal parts of cranberry juice and apple cider. Add some crushed ice to the mix and serve chilled.
3. Kiwi Punch
Ingredients:
- 7 kiwi fruits, peeled and chopped
- 2 limes, juice of
- 1 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
Method:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Strain the mixture, discard solids and serve with ice.
4. Iced Tea With Ginger And Mint
Ingredients :
- 80 gm ginger, unpeeled and sliced
- 1 cup mint leaves
- 6 green-tea bags
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Method:
In a large saucepan over high heat, combine the ginger and 6 cups of water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the mint and tea bags. Cover and let steep for 15 minutes.
Strain the liquid into a large pitcher or other container. Add the honey and lemon juice; stir.
Chill in the refrigerator. Serve in tall glasses over ice cubes and more mint leaves.
5. Watermelon Mint Cooler
Ingrdients :
- 4 cups watermelon
- 1 ½ cup lemonade
- ½ cup fresh mint leaves
Method:
Blend the watermelon and lemonade in a blender, stir in the mint leaves and strain the puree. Add the mix into the serving glass and garnish it with mint leaves.
6. Tangy Mango Cooler
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp chopped tamarind
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh mint leaves
Method:
In a bowl, add tamarind and 1 cup water and set aside for 1 hour. After an hour, blend the mixture and strain the pulp aside.
To the tamarind syrup add sugar, black pepper, cardamom powder, black salt, salt and 3 cups of water. Mix it well and refrigerate for 1 hr. Serve with ice garnished with fresh mint leaves.
7. Carrot Orange Cooler
Ingredients:
- 3 cups chilled Carrot juice
- 2 cups chilled Orange juice
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 4 tbsp Honey
- Crushed ice
- Sliced Lemon
- 4-6 mint leaves
Method :
Put orange juice, carrot juice, lemon juice, honey, ice in a shaker and mix it well. Put the mixture in a serving glass. Garnish the drink with a lemon slice and mint leaves.
8. Raspberry Fizz
Ingredients:
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
- 2cups cranberry juice
- 3 cups seltzer
- 1 cup ginger ale
- 1 pint raspberry sorbet
Method:
Add sugar and ½ cup water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Cook the mixture until it is slightly thickened. After about two minutes remove the saucepan from heat and lime juice in it. Let it cool at room temperature.
Now in another large pitcher, add cranberry juice, seltzer and ginger ale to the above mixture. Pour into glasses topped with scoops of raspberry sorbet.
9. Tangy Mulberry Cooler
Ingredients :
- 4 mulberries
- 1 orange wedge
- 60ml grape juice
- 30ml kalakhatta syrup
- 2 lime rings
- Black salt
- Pomegranate
- Crushed ice
Method:
Add mulberries, half of lime and one orange wedge to the mix of grape juice, kalakhatta syrup. Add some black salt to taste and stir. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish with pomegranate, the remaining mulberries, and lime rings.
10. Virgin Cucumber Cooler
Ingredients
- 300gm fresh cucumber
- 15ml lemon juice
- 150gm crushed ice
- Soda
- Fresh Mint leaves
Method:
Blend all the ingredients in a blender and pour the mix into the glass top it up with some soda and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
