Hair Care Tips for summers

Hair during summer lacks all the nourishment and becomes dull and lusterless. Here are some tips to not let the summer season wreak havoc on your beautiful hair!

  1. Cover it up :

The best way to protect your hair from the direct UV packed radiations is to cover your head with a scarf or a hat. Not only does it protect the hair from the harmful rays, but also helps to retain hair-moisture. Try to use a fabric has a high UPF, which will provide minimal exposure to the sun’s heat.

   2. DIY egg-mayo hairpack

Not only during summers, use this easy to make, DIY miracle hair-pack, which will help rejuvenate your tired locks. Take ¼ cup of plain yogurt, ¼ cup of mayonnaise, and 1 egg white. Blend them all by mixing one after the other. Mix them well and apply it to your hair. Spread this mixture evenly and properly, all over the hair and scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and rinse it off with plain water. This hair pack will nourish your hair and leave them smooth and silky.

  3. Regular shampoo and conditioning

The powerful sun rays not only leave your hair brittle and dry, they make it sweaty, and the greasy scalp is prone to getting dirty and hence needs shampooing regularly. Make sure you use a mild shampoo, because a harsh one can damage the hair more and strip the scalp off its natural oils.

  4. Avoid heat

Blow-drying sure seems an attractive getaway from water tricking down the back, leaving your back damp, but heat stylers like blow-dryers, flat irons will expose your already-exposed-to-heat hair to more, and leave them rough, damaged and frizzier than they already are! So, make sure you go all natural with your hair this summer.

  5. Regular trimming

Let’s admit it: no one likes to see those dry, split ends of their hair, who have taken a lot of beating during the summer. This time of the year is the ideal time to get rid of those lifeless ends trimmed and make room for a healthy life for your hair.

  6. Co-wash your hair

Co-washing or conditioner-washing is the best thing for your hair. Just wet your hair, use a replenishing conditioner for 2 minutes and rinse off. This will provide your hair with good nourishment and effective cleansing. It even blocks the need for shampooing.

  7. Use dry-shampoo

If you feel that co-washing is leaving your hair greasy and daily shampooing is damaging your hair, then shift to dry-shampoo. Many dry-shampoos are available in the market. An alternative to dry shampoos is baby talc- just sprinkle it on hair and comb it out. Plus, it’s always handy. This is one of the easiest tricks to get rid of the sweaty and oily hair, and minimizes the use of shampoo.

  8. Sun block

Just like we use a sunscreen to protect our skin from the harmful radiations of the sun, it’s very important to use something similar for hair. So, this summer, make sure you use a leave-in conditioner with sunscreensIf you have to work in the sun often, opt for hair products that have a good amount of SPF in them.

  9. Fight that frizz

Summer season leaves your hair limp and extra dry, and thus, prone to frizz. To avoid this, try putting your hair in a messy up-do, a loose braid, ponytails, knots, and buns. This will not only help you prevent sweating, but will keep your hair protected from frizz.

  10. Stay hydrated

Summer heat sucks out all the nutrients from your body, leaving your body, skin, and hair dehydrated. So, make sure you drink plenty of water and healthy liquids and retain the essential nutrients, which otherwise might get flushed out of the body, leaving your hair damaged and lifeless.
