Acid Attack Survivor Reshma Qureshi Will Walk The Ramp At New York Fashion Week

Reshma Banoo Qureshi, an acid attack survior, who has inspired millions with her positivity, hope and determination is all set to debut at the prestigious New York Fashion Week this September. A beauty blogger and vlogger, Reshma strives to raise awareness against acid attack in India and has campaigned against the open sale of acid. She has also been fighting for the rights of acid attack victims and teaches them to accept the unaccepted and to live life beyond limitations and restrictions.

Reshma was caught in a brutal incident two years ago where her estranged brother-in-law poured acid on her face leaving Reshma scarred for life. She got severe burn injuries, got blinded in one eye and disruption of skin on the face along with other internal medical injuries.

But all of that is in the past now. Since then, Reshma has been working with NGOs which not only made her gain her confidence back but also helps other acid attack patients fighting the evil acid attacks. She has her own YouTube channel which is famous for her ‘one of a kind’ beauty tutorials. She majorly works with an organization called Make Love Not Scars, which aims to end the acid sales in India.

Recently, FTL Moda, a renowned fashion company of New York has approached Reshma and asked her to walk the ramp for them in the upcoming New York Fashion Week. The fashion show will be tailor-made for Reshma. As a part of an independent show, she will be ending stigma around people who suffer from disfigurement and disabilities.

This is how she reacted to the news and its bound to leave you speechless and teary-eyed.

Ilaria Niccolini, the producer at FTL Moda, made this announcement, and said, “It has been a journey of discovery that led us to Make Love Not Scars, the most recognized entity supporting survivors of acid attacks in India. We want to give voice to these amazing women, who have been silently suffering, hiding, and too often depriving themselves of the opportunity to declare how cruelly they have been attacked. FTL Moda and Global Disability Inclusion are activating a powerful movement called #TakeBeautyBack, in partnership with Fashion Week Online, to make all diverse girls feel beautiful and included in fashion and entertainment.”

The nation and women from all over are extremely proud of you, lady!
