Easy Peasy And Finger Licking Desserts For Christmas

Christmas is the most awaited time of the year when we love to host parties for our friends and families and cook some lip smacking food and get the best drinks to go with them but no party is complete without some rich homemade luscious desserts. So we give you some of the amazingly delicious dessert recipes which are amongst the easiest ones to make.




1. Chocolate Custard:

Ingredients:

Milk: ¼ cup

Sugar: 3 tbsp

Egg yolk: 1 large

Dark chocolate: 85 grams

Salt: pinch

Unsalted butter: 2 tbsp

Heavy cream: ½ cup

Cinnamon: pinch

Combine milk and sugar in a saucepan and heat until sugar gets dissolved. To another bowl, beat eggs with 1tbsp of warm milk, and then add the mixture to the saucepan and cook at moderate heat, whisk the mixture until its slightly thickened.

Now to this mixture, add your chopped chocolates and salt, whisk until smooth. Now whisk in the butter. Add the mixture into 2 serving bowls and then refrigerate it for 5 minutes.  In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, 1tbsp sugar and cinnamon. Now take your chocolate custard out of the refrigerator. Add a dollop of whipped cream on the top of the custard and sprinkle some chocolate shavings or chocolate chips on it.  Your rich chocolate custard is ready to serve n eat.

2. Nutella Brownies

Ingredients:

Nutella: 1 cup

Eggs: 2

Flour: 10 tbsp

Mix these ingredients in a bowl and when combined pour the mixture into the muffin tin. Bake at 180 degC for 30 minutes. Check if the brownies are cooked by inserting a tooth pick and if the tooth pick comes clean, your brownies are ready to eat.





3. Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

Dark chocolate: 180g

Milk chocolate: 180g

White chocolate: 180g

Water

(In case you are using chocolate slabs, check for the ones which do not contain vegetable fat in it)

Add three different chocolates in three different microwaveable bowls. Pour in 60ml water into each bowl and microwave for 20 seconds and stir. If your chocolate has not melted then microwave it again for another 10 seconds and stir. Make sure your chocolate doesn’t burn. Keep a check on your white chocolate because white chocolate melts faster.

Pour each chocolate into a separate plastic bag, seal the bag, flaten it and keep it in the freezer for an hour. Now take the bag out and scrape out the chocolate from the bag into the bowl and whip it with a hand blender on high speed, now add a tsp of chilled water at a time and whip it on a high speed. Repeat the process until the chocolate reaches a smooth consistency like that of a thick cream. Now pour your chocolate into a glass with the help of a piping bag or a spoon. You may pour the dark chocolate at the bottom, then refrigerate it till the time you repeat the process with the other chocolates, then add milk chocolate over it followed by the white chocolate. Refrigerate it for half an hour and then it is ready to serve.

4. Nutella Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

White bread- 2 slices for 2 rolls

Nutella

Eggs: 2

Milk: 2tbsp

Butter: 1 tbsp

Cinnamon: 4 tbsp

Sugar: 3 tbsp

Take a slice of bread and cut out the edges with a sharp knife. With the help of a rolling pin, flatten the bread. Now spread nutella on it generously. Roll the bread. Beat two eggs and add some milk in it. Beat the mixture again. Now dip the rolls into the egg mixture. Heat up a pan and add a tbsp of butter in it. Once the butter melts, put the rolls into the pan and let them cook from all sides until golden brown. Now take the rolls out and dust the rolls with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Serve them hot. You may also serve them with a scoop of ice cream of your choice.

5. Nutty Chocolate Banana

Ingredients:

Banana: 1

Peanut butter

Dark chocolate

Nutty Chocolate Banana

Slice the banana into round shapes of equal thickness. Refrigerate the bananas for 15 minutes. Now put some peanut butter between two slices of banana. Refrigerate this for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt some dark chocolate in a microwave or a double boiler. Dip these banana slices into the molten chocolate and top the chocolate with nuts of your choice and freeze for 5 minutes. Your low calorie dessert is ready to eat.

6. Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients:

Sugar: 2 cups

Butter: 1 cup

Cocoa powder: ½ cup

Vanilla extract: 1 tbsp

Eggs:  4

All purpose flour:  1 ½ cups

Baking powder: ½ tbsp

Salt: ½ tbsp

Walnuts:  ½ cup

Chocolate Brownies

In a bowl, add melted butter and whisk sugar until combined. Then add rest of the ingredients to the bowl in the order above. Whisk the mixture until it is combined and then pour it into the greased muffin tray. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Check with a toothpick, if it comes clean your cupcakes are ready to eat. If you want to have rich chocolate muffins , you may add chocolate chips in place of walnuts and pipe chocolate ganache on the muffins once they are baked.  (For chocolate ganache: add dark chocolate to warm heavy cream in 1:1 ratio, and mix well until you get a smooth texture).

7. Peanut butter choco chip cookies

Ingredients:

Peanut butter: 1 cup

Sugar: 1 cup

Baking soda: 1 btsp

Egg: 2

Peanuts (finally chopped): 2 tbsp

Chocolate chips: 1/4 cup

Preheat your oven to 350 deg. To a bowl, add peanut butter, sugar, baking soda and eggs. Mix it well. Now add peanuts and chocolate chips to the mixture. Now make round ball of this mixtures and place it on a baking tin lined with butter paper. You may make patterns on your balls with the help of a fork. Bake the balls for 15 minutes until they are light brown and set. Cool them at room temperature and serve.

8. Coconut Macaroons

Ingredients:

Long shredded sweetened coconut: 5 1/3 cups

Sweetened condensed milk: 1 can

Vanilla: 2 tbsp

Coconut Macaroons

Preheat oven to 325 deg. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients and combine them well. With the help of an ice cream scooper, make balls of the mixture and place them on a baking tray lined with butter paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes and then cool them at room temperature.

9. Chocolate Fondue and Marshmallow

Ingredients:

Dark chocolate: 400g

Unsalted butter: 85g

Double cream: 280ml

Milk: 300ml

Marshamallows: 1 bag

Chocolate Fondue and Marshmallow

In a saucepan, heat the butter, cream, milk and chocolate on a medium heat. Stir occasionally till the mixture has reached a sauce like consistency. Now thread marshmallows on a skewers and toast them carefully on fire, now dip into the fondue and serve hot. You may also dip your favourite fresh fruits such as strawberries in the chocolate fondue.

10. Chocolate Balls

Ingredients:

Unsweetened cocoa: 3 tbsp

Butter: 1 tbsp

Sweetened condensed milk: 1 can

Chocolate Balls

Take a saucepan and heat butter, condensed milk and cocoa over medium flame. Stir the mixture until the mixture is thickened. Now remove the saucepan from the flame and let it cool at room temperature. Now small balls of the mixture using a spoon or an ice cream scooper. You can dust the balls with unsweetened cocoa or icing sugar.  The rich chocolate balls are now ready to serve.

11. Rich Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

margarine: 175g

Castor sugar: 175g

Eggs: 3

Self raising flour (sifted): 150g

Cocoa powder (sifted): 50g

Baking powder: 1 tbsp

Vanilla extract: 1 tbsp

Salt- pinch

For chocolate ganache

Dark chocolate: 100g

Chopped butter: 100g

 Rich Chocolate Cake

Method:

Preheat your oven to 180deg.

Grease your baking pan with margarine and fit a butterpaper on the bottom of the baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, add the dry ingredients and mix well. Now to the mixture add the wet ingredients and beat the ingredients with a hand mixer until the mixture is combined and smooth.

Now pour this mixture into your baking pan and bake for 45-50 minutes. Check if the cake is properly baked by inserting a tooth pick into the cake. If the tooth pick comes out clean your cake is properly baked.

Take out the pan and keep it at room temperature for another 5-10 minutes. Now run a knife around the edge of the pan and invert the pan onto a plate.

For ganache: take a pan, add butter and heat it till it starts melting, now add the pieces of dark chocolate and with a spatula start mixing it. Once the chocolate starts melting turn off the heat and let the chocolate melt completely. Let the ganache cool for a minute or two and then pour it over your chocolate cake.

You may also use heavy cream in place of butter for making chocolate ganache.
