6 Delectable Easy And Quick Desserts That Can Be Made In The Microwave

The invention of Microwaves have made working in the kitchen a lot more easier than it used to be. We keep looking for recipes that are easy to make especially when it comes to the finger-licking desserts and what could be better if we get to satiate our sugar cravings with some rediculously easy recipes? Here are 6 toothsome desserts for you to try at home and flaunt your baking skills.

1. Chocolate Mug Cake


  • All-purpose flour- ½ cup

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder- ¼ cup + 2 tbsp.

  • Baking powder- ½ tsp.

  • Granulated sugar- ¼ cup + 2 tbtsp.

  • Salt- ¼ tsp.

  • Milk (except for skim)- ½ cup + 2 tbsp.

  • Oil- ¼ cup

  • Mini chocolate chips- 2 tbsp.

  • Whipped cream/ ice cream/ cherries



  • Get 2 microwave safe mugs.

  • Set the power setting on high mode

  • Fill both the mugs with 1 cup water each to prevent overflowing.

  • Take a small bowl and whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar and salt into it. Set it aside.

  • Take a measuring cup, add milk and oil to and whisk them together.

  • Mix it with the dry ingredients and whisk until a lump-free batter is prepared.

  • Divide the mixture equally into both the mugs and top each with 1 tbsp. Of mini chocolate chips.

  • Keep the two mugs in the microwave for 7- seconds, one at a time. Let it rest inside the microwave for about 1 minute before getting it out.

  • Serve with whipped cream/ice cream or cherries.


2. Apple Crisp


  • Apples (peeled and sliced)- 4

  • Butter (melted)- ½ cup

  • Packed brown sugar- ¾ cup

  • Oats- ¾ cup

  • All-purpose flour- ½ cup

  • Ground cinnamon- 1 tsp.

  • Allspice- ½ tsp.



  • Take an 8-inch square glass baking dish.

  • Spread the apples evenly on the baking dish.

  • Take a medium bowl and add melted butter, brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon and assspice. Mix all the ingredients together.

  • Sprinkle this evenly over the apples.

  • Cook on full power in the microwave for 10-12 minutes until the apples are easily pierced with a knife.


3. Chocolate truffle


  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips- ½ cup

  • Canned coconut milk- 3 tbsp

  • Peppermint extract- few drops

  • Pinch of salt



  • Take a microwave safe dish and combine chocolate, milk, salt and peppermint extract and heat for 50 seconds.

  • Put it to heat and stir after every 10 seconds as chocolate burns quickly.

  • Freeze your mixture until the chocolate gets hard enough to scoop out into truffle shapes, 40 minutes at least.

  • Roll in cocoa before serving.


4. Oatmeal Choco-chip cookies


  • Egg-1

  • Brown sugar- ¼ cup

  • Quick oats- 1 cup

  • White flour- ¼ cup

  • Chocolate chips- ¼ cup

  • Shredded coconut- 1/8 cup

  • Water- 1 tbsp.

  • Extra-light olive oil- 1½ tbsp.

  • Vanilla essence- ½ tsp.



  • Take a bowl and combine all the liquid ingredients together.

  • Mix flour and oats to liquid mixture and let it set for a minute.

  • Then add chocolate chip and coconut and mix well.

  • Preheat the microwave and then set a parchment paper and drop heaping tablespoon sized dough balls on it.

  • Keep them for 10 minutes on convection mode. Keep in mind that the cookies tend to cook a little even after removed from heat so do not over bake them.

  • Remove and allow them to cool.


5. Carrot Cake


  • Flour- ¼ cup

  • Sugar- 1 tbsp

  • Cinnamon- ½ tsp

  • Nutmeg- ¼ tsp.

  • Baking powder- ½ tsp.

  • Salt- A dash

  • Coconut oil- 1 tbsp.

  • Milk- 1 tbsp.

  • Vanilla essence- ½ tsp.

  • Carrot (grated)- 1

  • Vanilla yogurt (optional)



  • Take a bowl and combine all the dry ingredients.

  • Add coconut oil, milk and vanilla essence and stir well.

  • At last, add the grated carrot.

  • Set the microwave on high for 90 seconds, check after 60 seconds.

  • Top it with vanilla yogurt.


6. German Apple Pancake


  • Buttermilk pancake mix- 1 cup

  • Vanilla extract- ½ tsp.

  • Water- ¾ cup

  • Ground Cinnamon- ½ tsp.

For Apple topping:

  • Butter- ¼ cup

  • Apple- 1

  • Brown sugar- ½ cup

  • Ground Cinnamon- ¼ cup



  • Take the apple and peel them. Cut it into thin slices.

  • Take a 9-inch microwave pie pan and add butter. Microwave for a minute.

  • Stir in cinnamon and sugar.

  • Arrange the sliced apples on the pan.

  • Cover them and microwave for 4-5 minutes until the apple slices are tender.

  • For preparing the batter, add pancake mix, vanilla extract, cinnamon and water and whisk well without forming the lumps.
